Science Fair

Last week Jack's school had a science fair along with an ice cream social in case the science alone was not enticing enough.  We got the ice cream out of the way first then went around and looked at all the projects.  

Jack's class did a group project on recycling and making paper.  Here he is explaining the steps to Dad.   Jack drew one of the pictures displayed using the paper his class made.  It is above his left elbow and he told us it is a bear in the woods throwing snowballs.

Barber

After giving this kid haircuts at home for almost the past four years, sometimes with decent results, sometimes not so much, we thought it was time for him to try out a barber and get a proper haircut.

After multiple tries and it not working out for a variety of reasons, Derrick and Jack finally got to go down to the barber shop and Jack got his first professional cut.  

Jack is happy with the result and reportedly enjoyed the experience (and got a lollipop at the end), so perhaps he will be returning soon.

Jack's half birthday was last week.  We continued the tradition of the silly hat (though I gave myself a pat on the back for this years creation).  And more Lego, of course!
