Belated Valentine

A little festive artwork from Jack.

Maybe you've noticed there hasn't been much posting going on here lately.  It has been crazy around here, but mostly with good things.  Derrick had planned surgery on his hip to repair a labrum tear about two weeks ago.  He's been on crutches since, but hopefully only for a few more days.  This may not sound like a good thing, but the end result should mean that Derrick is no longer in the pain he's endured since last Fall.
On the morning of Derrick's surgery, I got a call with an offer of a part-time counseling job, which I accepted.  I had an orientation this week and have some training next week and then I should be on my way.  So, that is exciting.
Then there is the other issue of getting our kitchen gutted and remodeled, which may be happening in as soon as two weeks.
And the snow.  Oh, all the snow…
And the colds.  Oh, all the colds (and viruses, fevers, etc.)...  We've gone through more Kleenex in the past few weeks than probably most of last year.  Jack has been bringing home some doozies from that petri dish he visits twice per week, that's for sure.
That is the story here.  I know this is not the Stacey and Derrick blog, so I hope to get back to posting Jack-related things soon.

  2. Good to hear the Derrick will be pain free, unfortunetly when the little ones start going to preschool, the the viruses begin. It sounds like all of you will be off to a busy start to 2014.

  3. Congratulations!!! That is so exciting about your job. Hope it's great. The snow and the viruses, on the other hand, not so good.
